Volunteer:
Becoming a volunteer or intern with the Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center can be a rewarding and life-changing experience. You will be close to the animals, serving their needs, facilitating their healing and aiding in their release back to the wild. We also need volunteers to help around the facility performing maintenance, landscaping and running errands.

We’re holding orientations on Saturday March 18th and Sunday March 26th for Volunteers at PWREC.
Internships:
- Are you in need of an internship?
- Do you have an interest in animal science, wildlife biology, ornithology, veterinary medicine, ecology or environmental science?
- Do you want to make a difference while learning about Pennsylvania’s native wildlife?
- Are you interested in becoming a wildlife rehabilitator?
If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, the internship program at Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center may be for you!
Brief Overview
Over the course of the internship, selected candidates will have the opportunity to feed, clean, and care for our wildlife patients. Candidates will:
- Learn about what it takes to run a wildlife hospital
- How to medicate wildlife
- Prepare nutritionally-balanced meals
- Have the opportunity to assist with wildlife education programs
- Learn various aspects of public engagements
